Tokyo, June 23, 2026 ーSpace BD Inc., a space business operator that provides various services including satellite launches and space environment utilization on the International Space Station (ISS), is pleased to announce that, following the initial close of its Series C financing round announced in January 2026 (*1), it has successfully raised additional funds through a third-party allotment of shares.  The investors for this round include Aozora Corporate Investment Co., Ltd., ON & BOARD Co., Ltd., Japan Post Insurance NEXT Partners Co.,Ltd., XTech Ventures Co., Ltd., SHIN NIPPON AIR TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD., Japan Investment Adviser Co., Ltd., Spiral Innovation Partners, Inc. (operating the Mori Building Innovation Fund), and Nippon Venture Capital Co., Ltd. With this additional procurement, the total amount raised in the Series C has exceeded JPY 3.5 billion, marking the final closing of this round.

Since its establishment in 2017, Space BD has been dedicated to advancing the industrialization of space as a major global industry. The company provides one-stop services, offering satellite operators access to a wide range of launch vehicles, as well as utilization support for space environments such as the ISS.

Leveraging strong business development and sales capabilities grounded in technical expertise, Space BD has significantly expanded launch options through partnerships with global launch service providers. In January 2026, the company achieved a milestone of supporting over 100 satellite projects. In its latest milestone, on June 12, 2026, Space BD successfully completed the launch integration support for all six payloads including the satellites launched under its “H3 Rocket Rideshare Launch Service”, carried on the H3 Launch Vehicle flight No. 6, 30 configuration Test Vehicle. This achievement marked the realization of the first commercial rideshare launch service using Japan’s flagship rocket(*2). In addition, through its ISS utilization services providing on-orbit experimental opportunities, Space BD has facilitated more than 670 space experiment samples, and successfully supported over 40 demonstration experiments in space environments(*3).

To support the sustainable growth of the space industry, Space BD is also actively addressing the critical shortage of space engineers and technical talent. "HURDLES," a next-generation practical talent development program announced in October 2025, has been smoothly adopted by corporations, local governments, and technical high schools.
